Hi,

Let us welcome you to Planter’s Camp, Kirudale near Madapur town in North Coorg. Recently, we added five more tents to take our total count to ten tents.

Kirudale is an enchanting place. The Camp is located half way between the top of the hill and the rivulet at the bottom.

Located on a jutting shelf, it gives you a good view across to the rolling fields and mountains as the mist closes in on them. While the camp sits in a patch of land that is mostly jungle, all around you are some of the best plantations of Coorg.

We am sure you would love to take a walk through the plantations, sit on the bridge by the river, take a walk to the waterfall, wash your feet in the rivulet or simply soak in the brilliant canopy of stars and the crisp air, surrounded by nature.

Located in 10 acres of pristine forest land that’s surrounded by coffee, cardamom and pepper plantations, Planter’s Camp at Kirudale provides guests a unique experience of living in the heart of untamed nature.

The camp is a retreat for nature lovers who can enjoy the stunning beauty of sacred groves, hear a varied bird population and watch the changing moods of a rivulet or the waterfall as it melts into white foams on brown rocks.

Leisurely walks through the sacred groves and listening to the stillness of the night under a bright canopy of stars will rejuvenate both your body and mind.

Maybe, if they make a friend of you, you might even get to take a peek at their fascinating homes.

KODAVA CUISINE FROM KODAVA HOMES

Kodagu and Kirudale is well known for its cuisine, one that has few parallels in the country given the very different palate of the Kodavas.

On the one hand, houses are well stocked with lemon and passion fruit juices just as they turn out a nifty fresh ground and roasted coffee and quite a few houses make heady wines.

On the food front, distinctive cuisine include Pandhi Curry, Kadambuttu, Bamboo Shoot Curry, Bamboo Shoot Tips Fry, Rice Rotis, Chicken Curry, Paputtu, Naputtu, Mutton Pepper Fry, Coorg Mango Curry and Kuleputtu Albai.

Planter’s Camp has tied up with families around the estate to prepare and serve authentic Kodava meals. Pre-order your meals so that you can get a real taste of Coorg.

MOUNTAIN TRAIL TREK

Take a trek around the Kirudale Estate through some of the most scenic spots in Coorg.
The third highest peak of Coorg, Kotebetta stands tall across the valley.
Kotebetta has become a destination for avid trekkers.
The camp organises treks on special request at a nominal charge.

NATURE WALK THROUGH PRIMEVAL FORESTS

NATURE WALK THROUGH PRIMEVAL FORESTS
The biodiversity of a large part of the Kodagu region is dependent on the preservation of the Devarakadu or forest groves which have remained untouched by human hand for centuries.
While the Devarakadu are getting endangered, a walk through the primeval forests will bring home the reasons why we need to protect our forests.
