When was the last time you had the pitter patter of rain drops lull you to sleep? For me it was in June tis year when i had gone on a 2-day trip to Planter's Camp.
Not paying much heed to warnings of 'all of Coorg will be under water' was perhaps one of my best decisions this year.
The tents were snug and cosy and kept us nice and dry. The cheerful prints on the walls and the bright linen made up for the lack of sunshine outside!
I have not had this experience since I left my home town three decade back..woken up in the morning with birds calling out in a very gentle breeze..truly magical and recharging...healing also...just stand out of the tents and watch nature in its full glory in the mornings!
Had no inkling as to how it would be while taking off from Mumbai....carrying gumboots…how the nights would be – taking guard to keep the blood-thirsty leeches at bay??....Eeeeks...but everything juz vanished off. The place is heaven down here. The whole trip was well coordinated right from the pick-up to the drop back. It was a real pleasure to have Alex playing the host with full of tales to tell about the place and half a dozen of his canines!!! The spread out on the table for the stomach was awesome and lip-smacking….proximity to the table was always adhered to…. Hats off for the meticulous effort which has gone into making it happen esp erecting the tents. The place is worth a dekko & stay.
